Canton Music School was founded in 2009 by Anna Rogozin, a highly accomplished pianist and educator with over 20 years of experience. Her goal was to bring the esteemed Russian Piano School music education to Canton, fostering a love for classical piano and excellence in performance.
Anna began her musical journey at the age of five at Ippolitov-Ivanov Music School, one of Moscow’s most prestigious institutions for young musicians. After moving to Boston at thirteen, she continued her studies under Faina Bryanskaya at Longy School of Music, followed by advanced training with the renowned Ukrainian-born pianist Alexander Slobodyanik. She later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from The Boston Conservatory, where she trained with virtuoso pianists Jonathan Bass, Irwin Gelber, and Michael Lewin. Throughout her career, Anna has performed, competed, and dedicated herself to music education.
Her students have achieved remarkable success, winning first-place awards in Massachusetts through the Royal
Conservatory Examinations. Her dedication to teaching has earned her prestigious accolades, including the “Founding Teacher Award,” the “Founding School Award” from the National Music Development Program, and a Teacher Enrichment Grant from the Music Teachers National Association. Most notably, her students have had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in the winner’s concert for the Elite International Piano Competition, a testament to the high level of training she provides.
Anna teaches students of all levels, from beginners to advanced pianists, with a special passion for working with young musicians. She emphasizes proper hand position, note reading, rhythm, and technique while instilling effective practice habits that set students up for long-term success. Her love for music extends beyond the classroom—her own son is a piano student at Canton Music School and shares her enthusiasm for learning and performing.
Vick was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania, where he began his musical journey at the age of five. Initially studying saxophone as his principal instrument, he expanded his expertise to piano and guitar by the age of nine. He graduated from the prestigious National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius before earning his Music Performance Degree from Longy School of Music, where he studied under the acclaimed professor Kenneth Radnofsky.
A talented musician, Vick has earned recognition in several competitions, including 2nd and 3rd place finishes at the National J. Pakalnis Woodwind Competition in 1999 and 2001. He is also a recipient of the Merit Award from The Boston Woodwind Society and the Ken Radnofsky Scholarship. With over 22 years of musical training, he has honed his skills as both a performer and an educator.
Vick teaches students of all ages and skill levels, utilizing a blend of American and Russian teaching methods to help them succeed. His individualized approach has made a significant impact on Canton Music School students, particularly those struggling with practice habits and concentration. His dedication to his students has contributed to their impressive achievements, including performances at Carnegie Hall as part of the Elite International Piano Competition winner’s concert.
Beyond teaching, Vick is an active performer in both classical and contemporary music. He plays with chamber ensembles and an international pop band, showcasing his versatility on guitar, keyboard, drums, and vocals. Fluent in English, Russian, Lithuanian, and Polish, Vick brings a well-rounded and culturally rich perspective to his teaching and performances.
Jean is a dedicated teacher who desires to foster the love of music in each individual accordingly. Her goal is to provide the highest level of piano, vocal, and guitar instruction to people of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of ability. Ms. Lee’s teaching experience includes being an assistant instructor at The Juilliard School Pre-‐College Division, faculty at Artisan Music Studio, juror for Orchestra Placement Auditions for Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at New England Conservatory Preparatory School and more than ten years of private instruction. Jean brings years of study at The Juilliard School, Aspen Music Festival, Kinhaven Music School, and Berklee School of Music and earned both a B.M. and M.M. at New England Conservatory. She has studied with Lisa Kim, Dominique Eade, Ran Blake, Hankus Netsky and various members of the New York Philharmonic and Boston Symphony Orchestra.
As a performer, she has collaborated with Roscoe Mitchell, James Earl Jones, Gunther Schuller, Eric Ewazen, Robert Cogan, Robert Spano to name a few. She has been privileged to grace the halls of Avery Fisher, Jordan Hall, Sanders Theater, Alice Tully, churches, other concert halls, and galleries throughout United States and Europe.
Tomer was born in Jerusalem, Israel and came to the U.S with his family at the age of 5. He studied piano from the age of 9 becoming a prize winner in both national and international competitions. Tomer holds his Undergraduate Diploma in Piano Performance from Longy School of Music. He’s currently enrolled in the Master's Degree program in classical piano performance at Longy under the guidance of professor Andrius Zlabys.
Tomer welcomes students ages 4+ and all levels. Whether it’s preparing them for recitals/competitions or just having fun exploring piano, Tomer will teach at the pace that suits your comfort level.
Mine comes from a family of musicians. At age 5 she started learning piano from her father and at the age of 10 she got accepted at Ankara State Conservatory for violin studies. Mine also attended Rotterdam Music and Dance Academy in Netherlands and got her Master’s Degree from Baskent University Conservatory in Turkey.
In addition to her orchestral/concert work she’s been teaching violin and piano for 20 years.
She's a mom of two wonderful kids who love music. Mine plans her lessons based on each student’s unique personality, learning style and pace. She welcomes new students ages 4+.
Alex began lessons at six years old with piano
pedagogy pioneers, Reid Nibley and Richard Anderson, authors of an acclaimed piano lesson series. While
still in his teens, he studied with professors Robert Bailey Smith (a student at The Julliard School)
and Mona Andrus (Smith), both of Brigham Young University.
He has continued further keyboard study with Daniel Olsen, Bonnie Goodliffe (an organist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Salt Lake City), Craig Williams (organist at West Point Academy, NY, site of the largest church organ in the world), and Peter Sykes, professor at Boston University and The Juilliard School.
Alex is experienced with students of all ages and levels in private practice, in several states. He has met and spoken with Randall Faber of the Faber piano series (our school’s trusted piano teaching method) while attending an expert piano teaching clinic.
His students speak of positive life changes through their piano playing while taking lessons from him. Alex values and encourages creativity, exploration and fun in learning and performing at the piano.
Bryan is a pianist, composer, and teacher with a
diverse background in jazz, rock, funk, classical, and contemporary improvisation. A Berklee College of
Music graduate with a BA in Piano Performance, he's performed across the U.S. and internationally,
including as a founding member of the jazz quintet Jazz Echo, for which he composed music for four
albums available on Spotify and Bandcamp. Bryan had also collaborated on projects like “Floating Free,”
a children's instrumental album.
Teaching has been a passion of Bryan's for many years. He's worked with students of all ages and
focus on building strong fundamentals, theory, ear training, harmony, improvisation, ensemble playing,
and composition. His goal is always to make piano fun, inspiring, and to help students become confident,
self-sufficient musicians.
On a personal note, Bryan's also a proud parent. His son is a dedicated and proficient
violinist. Music is a big part of Bryan's home, and he's excited to bring that same joyand energy into
his lessons.
Originally from Roswell, Georgia, Thomas is currently an active performer and teacher in the Boston area. He moved to Boston to attend The Boston Conservatory for his Master's in Music which he completed in 2015 under the tutelage of Andrew Mark. Prior to moving to Boston, Thomas attended Florida State University for his Bachelor's in Music. Thomas loves teaching and works with each student to embrace their uniqueness and potential.
Eduards is a versatile musician, composer & teacher. Originally from Riga, Latvia, he grew up with a father who is a professional singer, and a mother who is a teacher, shaping his deep passion for music and teaching from an early age. Classically trained at the Riga Cathedral Choir School, he later picked up the guitar at 13, expanding into contemporary and modern styles. Eduards holds BA in Performance from Berklee College of Music. With a strong foundation in music history, theory, and improvisation, Eduards tailors his lessons to each student’s unique learning style.
Daniel started taking guitar lessons at age 9. He had always loved listening to music and then discovered a love of playing music as well. He studied Audio Engineering at Northern Vermont University and Music Performance at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He’s always practicing new skills on both the guitar and piano and looks forward to sharing his love of music with students. He has a wide musical repertoire and performs rock, country, blues, pop, metal, and folk. Daniel is dedicated to making the study of music fun, teaching techniques, from basic to advanced, and helping students reach their musical goals.
Mario graduated from Westfield State College in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. He graduated Magna cum Laude, was on the Dean's List, and received the Music Educator's Achievement Award. He has been teaching chorus, orchestra, and music technology at Masconomet Middle School in Boxford, MA since 1997. He also teaches at Horrigan Music School, a position he has held since 2002.
Mario has performed with the Boston Symphony, the Springfield Symphony, and the Atlanta Symphony under the batons of Seiji Ozawa, James Levine, Raymond Harvey, and Raphael Bundage. He has also performed at Carnegie Hall in 1993 and 2003 with the Westfield College Chorale.
Mario is a composer of five Masses, ten motets, six symphonies, four string quartets, three piano sonatas, a piano concerto, a Te Deum, a Requiem, a Pater Noster, and over 100 songs, with some of these works published through AlphaBooks. His past professional memberships include MENC, MMEA, and ACDA.
In his free time, Mario enjoys going to the gym and staying healthy. He is happily married to his wife, Ebonie, and raising their two children.
Jayden
Jayden is currently in his senior year at Blue Hills Regional School in Canton. At his school he studies nursing and is really excited to see where that takes him in the future. He has Alopecia and Type 1 Diabetes. While not at school, Jayden loves to listen to music, his favorite genres being R&B and pop, with some oldies, and hanging with those who mean most to him. He loves helping other people and can’t wait to help you out in anyway he can!
